Working with Williams is a learning experience: Kartikeyan
Mumbai, Jun 8 (UNI) India's fastest driver Narain Kartikeyan, who is presently a test driver with the Williams team today said working with this team is a learning curve.
Speaking at a video conference from Oxfordshire along with the boss of the Williams team Sir Frank Williams and their top two drivers Mark Weber and Nico Rosberg, the first Indian to race in Formula 1 last season, said that this stint with Williams would prove to be good for him in future when he gets another shot at racing in Formula 1.
Kartikeyan speaking further on his role, said that it is he who test drives all the new innovations and technical advancements which are reserach team comes up with so that it could be implemented into the main cars that race on the race days.
Praising the Williams boos, Sir Frank, Kartikeyan said that it feels good that someone beleives in me as a driver at this level and I hope to make progress as the season goes on and hopefully also get a chance to race in the Formula 1 once again.
Sir Frank Williams said that there is a lot of potential in Kartikeyan and we decided not to race him this season as we had already finalised our main drivers.
He also said that when Kartikeyan came to them his talent was evident but he was a very erratic driver. ''He has, however, made good progress this year and you can see that he is learning fast and has also curbed his erratic driving and become more consistent.'' Mark Weber, the Australian, showed how much his country and countrymen love cricket, saying that he looks upto Sachin Tendulkar as a role model. He, however, added that he has not even reached even half of Sachin's exploits on the cricket field in his sport.
