Umrigar's condition stable, still in ICU
Mumbai, June 8 (UNI) Former India Test captain Polly Umrigar continues to remain in the ICU at the Bombay Hospital though his condition is stated to be stable.
Dr Asish Tiwari, the spokesperson of Bombay Hospital, told UNI that Umrigar is responding to the treatment and is in a jovial mood.
''He is likely to be shifted out of the ICU by tomorrow and should be discharged from the hospital in three to four days time,'' he added.
The cricketing great had been admitted to the hospital on Sunday and was diagnosed with lymphoma.
Umrigar is undergoing an intensive course of chemotherapy, which has left him weak.
Former cricketers like Ajit Wadekar, Babu Nadkarni, Diana Edulji and the widow of Eknath Solkar called on the ailing superstar to inquire about his well being.
