Three naxalites killed in Chhattisgarh
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, June 8 (UNI) Three Maoist naxalites were killed in an encounter with the police at village Jalbodha, in Balrampur police district in northern Chhattisgarh this afternoon.
Police sources said Chando police station incharge Arvind Khalko led the security forces which raided a naxalite hideout near village Jalbodha following a tip off that Communist Party of India (Maoists) cadre were camping there.
Three naxalites were killed in the encounter while others fled into the nearby forests. A self-loading rifle (SLR), two 303 and five 315 bore guns were seized from the encounter site, police said.
The deceased were yet to be identified. Police suspect that one of them could be a zonal commander level Maoist leader.
Combing operation has been intensified in the area to flush out the remaining naxalites, police added.
