Monsoon was weak over Karnataka

Bangalore, Jun 8 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm); Belthangadi, Mudibidre, Udupi, Madikeri, Agumbe 3 each; Bantwal, Karkala, Honavar, Karwar 2 each; Mani, Subramanya, Sulya, Siddapura, Gerusoppa, Joida, Gokarna, Sirsi, Siddapura, Sambre, Nargund, Mudigere, Hospet, Tumkur 1 each.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over all districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of rain/thundershowers likely.
