Lucknow, Jun 8 : An engine and three coaches of a goods train derailed in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh this morning, affecting rail traffic.

Railway sources said the engine and three coaches of the train derailed on a bridge over river Garra under the Moradabad railway division. Two of the coaches turned turtle, fracturing the railway track. But there were no reports of any casualty.

The accident has virtually blocked the Lucknow-Dehradun route as the accident took place on a single track. While track repair work was in full swing and efforts were on to move the train, the route would be cleared only by 1500 hrs, sources said.

Meanwhile, the derailment has affected the movement of Lucknow-Delhi Mail, Dehradun Express, Punjab Mail and a few other passenger trains.

Some of the passenger trains on the route have been cancelled forthe day, sources added.
