CPI (ML) to go alone

Pondicherry, June 8 (UNI) The Pondicherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) will contest the local body elections in the Union Territory alone.

In a statement here, CPI(ML) state council member Sankaran today said the party would feild its candidates only in one ward each in Pondicherry, Ozhukarai, and Karaikal municipalities.

Besides, fielding its men in 10 panchayat wards, it would contest two Commune Panchayat Council seats at Ariyankuppam and the post of Panchayat presidents at Ariyankuppam, Nettapakkam, Villianur and Nedumgadu Comune Panchayat.
