CM for re-structuring HP education department

Shimla, Jun 8 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government was considering a proposal to restructure education department after carving out a separate directorate of elementary education department.

The restructuring of the department would be done carefully after taking into consideration the interest of the employees and without hampering the studies of the students, he said, while reviewing the progress of both of the directorates of education, here.

Mr Singh said a large number of new posts were likely to be created with vast promotional avenues, besides keeping intact existing promotion avenues after the restructuring of the department.

The school lecturers would be re-designated as Post Graduate Teachers and made responsible for teaching students from ninth to twelfth he said.

He said about 2,700 additional posts of headmasters would be created by converting JBT posts and placed at par with the Block Primary Education Officers.

Senior Block Elementary Education Officer and Block Elementary Education Officer posts would be created for effective implementation of the various educational programmes in their respective areas, he said.
