APJEWA demands impartial probe into engineer's murder
Itanagar, Jun 8 (UNI) Expressing anguish over death of assistant urban planning officer (AUPO) Tagom Jerang in mysterious circumstances, Arunachal Pradesh Junior Engineers' Welfare Association (APJEWA) has urged state chief minister to probe into the incident to unravel the truth.
The Association, in a memorandum to the Chief Minister, said the engineer had boarded a Naharlagun-bound night super bus at Namsai on June four.
Next day his body was recovered by the Assam Police near Biswanath Chariali under Sonitpur district in Assam in unconscious state with severe head injuries.
He was rushed to Tezpur civil hospital, which referred him to Guwahati. He succumbed to his injuries on way to Guwahati at Nowgaon.
The Association said the incident has raised questions over the safety of passengers travelling through Assam.
The memorandum said though the case was registered at Biswanath Chariali police station by Assam Police, it should be taken over by Arunachal police to bring the culprits to book.
