Underprivileged children inaugurate exhibition
Kolkata, Jun 7 (UNI) A five-day exhibition of the photographs on the natural beauty of the Himalayas taken by BSF Inspector General, South Bengal Somesh Goyal was inaugurated by a group of underprivileged children here today.
The group of 26 school children hail from the remote villages in the Indo-Bangladesh area near the Petrapol border in North 24 Parganas district.
Visiting an exhibition for the first time, the children were visibly thrilled. They were accompanied by their parents and school teachers.
The exhibition features 45 photographs highlighting the natural beauty of the Himalayas, characteristics of the local tribal people and the high altitude distrcit of Lahaul and Spiti of Himachal Pradesh.
The children were also taken for a visit to the places of attraction in the city as part of the BSF attempt to promote relationship with the border people.
