Umrigar's condition improves; still in ICU
Mumbai, June 7 (UNI) Former Indian captain Polly Umrigar (80) continued to remain in ICU at the Bombay hospital here, even as his condition was reported to be stable.
Polly 'Kaka', as he is fondly called, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday as he has been suffering from cancer.
Dr Ashish Tiwari, one of the experts attending on the living legend, said Polly Umrigar is responding to treatment and his condition has imrpoved a lot from what it was when he was brought in on Saturday.
Meanwhile, hospital sources said he is under observation and further tests are being carried out on him.
Umrigar, the first Indian to score 3,000 Test runs, had celebrated his 80th birthday on March 28.
The burly six-footer played 59 Tests for India.
