Six fabs in the pipeline

Hyderabad, Jun 7 (UNI) SemIndia Chairman Dr Vinod Agarwal today said six companies were planning to set up Fabs in Fab City.

Speaking to newsmen after the foundation stone laying ceremony of SemIndia Fab Private Limited today, Dr Agarwal said many firms were showing interest in setting up fabs.

He said with the Centre trying to bring in special package of incentives to give a major boost to Electronics/IT Hardware manufacturing and make India a preferred destination for foreign direct investment in this sector, the firms were just waiting.

Once the policy is announced companies would be planning to set up fabs in the Fab City in Hyderabad, he said.

Dr Agarwal said six fabs would be set up in Fab City.

Already negotiations were on.
