Scrap Article 370, says Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Kullu, June 7: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today demanded the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, which provides Jammu and Kashmir a special status.

''Article 370 of the Constitution relating to Jammu and Kashmir should be scrapped for strengthening the state's integration with the rest of the country,'' he told reporters here before leaving for Delhi after his seven-day stay at his house in Prini village of the district.

Mr Vajpayee said developments in the state were a ''cause for concern'' and added that the situation there should be addressed seriously for finding a lasting solution to the problem.
