Quality leadership makes the difference in a battle,IMA Commandant

Dehradun, June 7 (UNI) In a battle where both sides are equally equipped, it is quality leadership that makes all the difference, Lt Gen K K Khanna, Commandant, Indian Military Academy said here today.

Delivering his lecture after giving away the awards to the cadets passing out from IMA, Lt Gen Khanna said IMA has laid the foundation of leadership and professionalism amongst cadets and it was now upto them to develop these traits and hone themselves to become efficient military officers.

Cadet Bhavani Singh received the maximum seven awards including, Best All Rounder Cadet in the Science stream (Signals Medal), Governor of Uttaranchal Trophy for Best Overall in Academics, Commandants' Gold Medal for ranking first in Humanities and Award of Torch.

Best sportsman award and Madras Regiment Medal for being first among commissioned into Infantry went to Ashish Singh Mehta, Best Turnout and Drill Award went to Sonam Topke while Parikshit Sharma walked away with Rajputana Rifles Medal for being first in Tactical ability, Initiative and Leadership.

This year in all 16 foreign cadets will pass out from IMA, including 13 from Bhutan and one each from Kyrgyzstan, Nepal and Mauritius.

Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi will review the passing out parade of IMA on June 10.
