Punjab gets another six months for unbundling of PSEB
Patiala, Jun 7 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Power has given six more months to Punjab government for the unbundling of Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) from June 9 to December 9 2006.
A communique in this regard has been received by the Punjab Power Secretary from the Union Ministry of Power director Alok Kumar, the PSEB sources told UNI here.
The states are bound to unbundle their respective electricity boards under the central Electricty Act 2003.
''The Union government has agreed to the request of Punjab for the continuation of the PSEB as the state transmission utility for a period of six months,'' the communique, dated May 31, has stated.
