PM, Deora congratulate Modi Govt on gas find

Gandhinagar, June 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora have congratulated the Gujarat Government for the major gas find in KG basin in Andhra Pradesh, State Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said.

After the State Cabinet meeting here, Mr Modi told mediapersons that the Gujarat Government is making plans to monotise the gas at the earliest and the commercial production is expected to start in December, 2008.

He said the Government may also set up a LPG (liquified petroleum gas) extraction plant, as the gas has 17 per cent C-2 and C-3 contents.

The block where the gas finding has been made was alloted to the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) under the NELP scheme.
