Lifer escapes from Surat district jail

Surat, June 7 (UNI) A convict undergoing life imptisonment in the district jail escaped this morning, police said.

According to the police, the inmate named Vishveswar Bhulbahai, a native of Godpipla in Maharashtra, escaped from the jail farm on Udhna Magdalla road with the help of four others named Thodubh Khan, Ramji Bhariya, Mangu Ravji and Navin Juggu, all his fellow inmates.

Vishveswar Bhulbhai was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1998 for a murder case and was brought to Surat district jail from Baroda jail in 1999.
