Kashmiris view important in resolution of Kashmir issue: PM

Islamabad, June 7 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said his country wanted to resolve the core issue of Kashmir in accordance with the ''wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiris and acceptable to both Pakistan and India.'' Talking to newsmen here he said the two countries have been engaged in confidence building measures and talks at various levels are going on.

''Now there is need to find an acceptable solution to the Kashmir issue,'' the Prime Minister said.

He said recently Home Secretaries and Culture Secretaries of both the countries held meetings and even a number of prisoners were released following these talks.

He said Pakistan has already given the proposals of demilitarisation and self-rule in Kashmir and now there is a need to show progress on these suggestions.
