JK Minerals registers record turnover

Srinagar, June 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited has generated a yearly turnover of Rs 6 crore on sale of coal during the past five years, achieving an average production of 23,000 tonnes of coal annually, an official spokesman said today.

The company looks after gypsum mining, the second largest activity of the company, in the state at Asar in Doda district of Jammu region while another unit at Parlanka Ramban was also in the offing, he added.

The spokesman said the production of gypsum has reached 34,000 tonnes per annum.

The company has generated a turnover of Rs 49.76 crore during the past five years where as it stood at Rs 37.48 crore during previous ten years, he added.

The spokesman said the company had shown an improvement and upward trend in the activities during the past decade.
