Gerrard misses England training

BUHLERTAL, Germany, June 7 (Reuters) England's World Cup midfielder Steven Gerrard missed their training session today due to a sore back.

Gerrard, who had sat out the closing minutes of Tuesday's first session at Buhlertal with a stiff back, was rested as a precautionary measure, an FA spokesman said.

England will be counting on the authoritative midfielder to be alongside Frank Lampard in central midfield when their Group B campaign starts on Saturday against Paraguay. They also play Trinidad and Tobago and Sweden.
