Five tourists from Maharashtra killed in Kashmir accident

Srinagar, June 7 (UNI) A couple and their son were among five tourists from Maharashtra who were killed and five others wounded in a road accident at Bijbehara on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway today, police said.

Police said a vehicle carrying tourists from Srinagar to Jammu collided with a speedy bus at Bijbehara in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

They said a couple Hansmukh Deewani, his wife Harsha Deewani and son Deevash Deewani and Usha Subash were killed. The identity of fifth female tourist was not known, police said.

Four tourists and a driver were injured in the incident. The injured were admitted to hospital where condition of two of them was stated to be critical, police said.
