Eight panchaloha idols unearthed

Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, May 7 (UNI) Eight panchaloha idols were unearthed at Thillaivilagam village in Tirvarur district yesterday.

According to official sources, the idols were unearthed during road laying works. The idols were of Sumaskandar, Varadha Raja Perumal, Manicka vasakar, Booma devi, Amman, Sridevi, Sivakami Ambal and another Amman idol.

The idols reportedly belong to the Chola period.

The idols were later handed over to the local tahsildar.
