Donkey rally against quota in Jaipur
Jaipur, June 7 (UNI) Anti-reservationists today took out a rally on donkeys to protest against the OBC quota in institutes of higher education.
Activists of 'Swaran Arakshan Manch' paraded seven donkeys representing seven political parties -- Congress, BJP, CPM, CPI, Lok Jan Shakti Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party -- with placards reading ''I will only settle after dividing the country, I will see that our country's talent get settled in America.'' The rally commenced from Ram Niwas Bagh and ended at Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Participants shouted slogans against the proposed reservation.
Representatives from Khandelwal community held a demonstration in front of SMS hospital.
The Nurses Association conducted a ''wisdom yagna'', in which 40 employees offered blood to the holy fire and vowed to sacrifice their life in the agitation against reservation.
Swaran Aarakshan Manch's coordinator Suresh Mishra said a torch rally will be organised tomorrow from the medical college even as the preparations were on for the maha rally on June 11.
