Congress MLA arrested in AP

Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, June 7 (UNI) Congress MLA Veera Shiva Reddy was arrested by the police today from Kamalapuram constituency following a clash between two rival groups of Congress partymen.

According to police, the incident took place when Veera Shiva Reddy's brother Chanti Veera Reddy, his political rival, invited Narasimha Reddy, another political rival of his brother for lunch to his house in their native Kogatam village.

On a tip off, Veera Shiva Reddy's followers tried to stop Narasimha Reddy from entering the village. Soon a verbal dual ensued and led to the clash with the rival groups hurling country bombs at each other.

Police opened fire in the air to disperse the clashing groups.
