Arcelor expects to meet Mittal management soon

Paris, June 7: European steelmaker Arcelor confirmed on Wednesday it had received a business plan from its suitor Mittal Steel and said it aimed to discuss the plan with Mittal's management in the near future.

''Although Arcelor's review of the Mittal Steel business plan is ongoing, Arcelor has identified a number of questions related to the business plan and has requested a meeting for the purpose of seeking answers to these questions,'' Arcelor said in a statement.

''Arcelor anticipates that a meeting between representatives of the two management teams to discuss the Mittal Steel standalone business plan will take place in the coming days,'' it added.
