4 bookies arrested

Mumbai, June 7 (UNI) The crime branch Thane district has arrested four bookies including Kantilal Shah, reportedly one of the 10 top bookies in the country, from Mira road.

Police said acting on a tip-off, they conducted a raid in a flat at Mira road on Monday and nabbed - Kantilal Shah, Hiten Javeri, Mayur Shukla and Rajesh Patil, while they were betting on a cricket match between England and Sri Lanka.

A lap-top, computer and mobile phones were seized from their possession, police added.
