Sensex dips below 10,000 after opening in red
Mumbai, June 6: BSE Sensex today opened in the red at 10,087.96 points and touched the low of 9,884.89 in strong volatility and sad performance of the Asian markets, led by Nikkei and Kospi, with the exception of Taiwan.
Sensex today opened 212 points less from its previous close of 10,213.48 yesterday.
Today, all the BSE sectoral indices opened in the red, led by consumer durables and followed by metals, IT, midcap, smallcap and FMCG. All were down by two to four per cent.
Major gainer on the BSE was SBI, up by 0.31 per cent to Rs 817.
Besides, the losers were - Reliance Energy, NTPC, Ranbaxy, ONGC, Hindalco, L&T, HDFC, HLL and Cipla, all down by 5.5 to seven per cent.
