Workshop on CBR begins

Tirupati, Jun 5 (UNI) A two-day work shop on Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR ) programme was organised jointly by Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Techology (CAPART) in collaboration with Rashtirya Seva Samithi (RASS) here today.

Inaugurating the workshop, Sri Padmavathi Mahila University Vice Chancellor Veena Nobal Dass said complimented CAPART for providing assistance to the physically challenged at their doorsteps.

She also complimented CAPART for the multifarious activities undertaken by it in Chitoor District for the cause of the physically challenged.

CAPART Regional Committee Convenor L B Singh said the organisation would give priority to schemes like Public Cooperation(PC), advancement of rural technology, gramasree melas, workshops and seminars and development of rural areas through NGOs.

He said the NGOs of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were working effectively for the cause of rural development by availing assistance from CAPART.

Mr Singh said the CAPART was providing assistance to 560 NGOs to implement rural development schemes.
