Wakf Board demands amendement to Act
Kolkata, June 5 (UNI) The West Bengal Wakf Board today sought the intervention of the State Government for speedy solution of its long standing problems.
In a meeting with Wakf Minister Hannan Molla, State Wakf Board Chairman Hannan Molla demanded simplification of Wakf Act, speedy completion of survey of Wakf estates and increase in the number of employees of the Board.
Later, Mr Molla told reporters at a press conference the Board needed an immediate amendment to the existing Wakf Act to expedite settlement of property disputes.
Mr.Molla said the Minister had assured to take care of the problems and earmark funds for setting up of an Wakf ITI in the state in the next two years.
