Uma to chair BJP's maiden Executive at Bhopal
New Delhi, June 5: Taking a five day 'rest' from the ongoing Bharat Bhachao Yatra', former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharat Janashakti Party President Uma Bharti will be chairing the National Executive of her party in Bhopal on June 17.
Ms Bharti, who is currently undertaking the 'padyatra' from Rameshwaram in south to Kedarnath from May 13, to warn the people of the 'dangers' of foreign investments, economy and leadership to the country's Indian interests, will preside over the first executive of the party, since it was floated in the the holy city of Ujjain.
The party will review the political situation and discuss the ways of expanding its base, especially in the states like Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, which are facing elections next year.
Ms Bharti is presently at Wardha, the 'karmabhoomi' of Godan movement leader Acharya Vinoba Bhave in Maharashtra, party sources said.
