SSLC examination results dips

Pondicherry, June 5(UNI) Pass percentage in the SSLC examination results dropped by 2.67 per cent this year compared to the results last year in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.

Talking to newspersons here today, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan said the pass percentage this year was 73.20 per cent against 75.87 per cent last year.

He said out of 14877 students appeared for the examination, 10890 had passed.

Mr Shajahan said 6260 out of 9966 Government school students appeared for the examination, had registered a pass percentage of 62.81.

He said 38 private schools had registered 100 per cent pass. No Government schools had achieved 100 per cent pass and the Rs One lakh prize goes to Thiruvettaikkudi Government High School, Karaikal and Singaravelar Government High School, Veerampatinam, which registered more than 90 percent pass in rural schools, he added.

Four students shared the top position, securing 484 marks out of 500 and five students bagged the second place with 483 marks, he said.
