New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will lay the foundation stone for the proposed ''Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Training Centre'' at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu where former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in 1991.

Ms Gandhi today accepted a request in this regard from Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who met her at her 10 Janpath residence during his first visit to the Capital city after the DMK-led DPA swept the assembly poll last month.

Mr Karunanidhi told mediapersons after the meeting that the date for the foundation stone laying would be decided after he returned to Chennai.

He said the Congress members in the Tamil Nadu had raised the demand for setting up an aviation centre at Sriperumbudur in the memory of Rajiv Gandhi, who was also a trained pilot.
