Sanam stunned, Jeevan beaten, Indian challenge over in boys singles
Paris, June 5 (UNI) Indian challenge in the boys singles event came to a crashing end with seventh seed Sanam Singh shocked by Slovak Martin Klizan while Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan was swept away by top seeded Ducth Thiemo De Bakker in the second round of the French Open here today.
An out of sorts Sanam conceded the first set before he could have a hang of things out there in the middle.
Sensing danger, the Chandigarh lad raised his game in the second set but it was too little and too late as his Slovak opponents carved out a 6-2, 7-5 win in just about an hour to slam the door on the Indian.
Jeev, on the other hand, stood little chance against the top seeded Dutch who won 6-2, 6-2.
Jeev was broken thrice in the first set and twice in the second and the big-serving Thiemo De Bakker took less than an hour to seal the match in his favour.
