Rupee gains 13 paise, closes at Rs 45.77/79/USD

Mumbai, Jun 5: Indian currency today closed 13 paise higher at Rs 45.77/79 per US dollar, as compared to the previous close of 45.90/USD.

Rupee today opened firm at Rs 45.85 and in the mid-morning traded at Rs 45.85/86/US dollar.

The six-month forward premia was higher at 0.75 per cent and the one-year premia was also high at 0.91 per cent.

RBI fixed the reference rate at Rs 45.82/USD today.

Rupee also fared well against other currencies: rupee vs euro was 59.29, vs pound sterling was 86.19 and against yen it was Rs 40.97.
