Randhawa moves up to 129th, Jeev climbs to 162 in golf rankings

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) With a decent tied 14th finish in the Wales Open, Jyoti Randhawa moved up to the 129th place to consolidate his stature as the highest ranked Indian while compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh climbed up four rungs to 162nd in the latest World Official Golf Rankings issued today.

Randhawa was placed 137th last week after his poor tied 58th finish at the BMW Championship but the former Asian Tour number one produced a vastly improved show at the Wales Open to move up to 129th with 1.15 average points.

Jeev Milkha Singh (.94), who finished tied 21st in Wales Open, inched towards breaking into top 150 and the Volvo China Open winner is now placed 162nd.

Meanwhile, out of form Shiv Kapur (.99) failed to arrest the slide and slipped four rungs to 156 while Orlando-based Arjun Atwal (.98) languishes at 158th, dropping two notches from his last week's position.

Swede Carl Pettersson's triumph at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Ohio moved him up 22 places to 29th.

Tiger Woods' closest challenger Phil Mickelson is 6.89 average points behind the leader and Woods' total number of weeks at World Number One is now 394.
