Nigerian arrested for sale of cocaine in Delhi

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) One more Nigerian was arrested for indulging in distribution and sale of cocaine in the national capital following the detention of three compatriots yesterday on the suspicion of supplying drugs to late Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul Mahajan and his private secretary Bibek Moitra.

The narcotics branch of Delhi police yesterday arrested Michael Ofori Danagogo, who was indulging in sale and distribution of cocaine.

Michael was arrested by the police at Moti Bagh in south Delhi where he had come to deliver a consignment of drugs, police said.

About 41 gms of cocaine were recovered from him, they said.

Interrogation of Michael revealed that he had earlier stayed in in the city as a Delhi university student after he came to India in 1990 when his father was posted as a counselor in the Nigerian High Commission.

After pursuing his studies, he retuned to Nigeria but had visited India several times since. Investigation revealed that he last visit was in December 7 last year on a forged visa.

Michael was in touch with several users and other dealers of cocaine and his phone records and call details are being scrutinised to ascertain his links, police said.

He has been remanded in two days' police remand and further investigations are on.
