MP Govt to appoint 400 fresh MBBS graduates

Bhopal, June 5 (UNI) In order to overcome shortage of qualified doctors in rural areas, the Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to appoint nearly 400 fresh MBBS graduates.

The fresh MBBS graduates, who are not seeking admission to post graduate courses, will be given government job in rural areas, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said.

He said students comparatively incurred less expenditure on getting medical education in government colleges. At the time of admission to the MBBS course, the students furnish a bond of Rs 75,000 along with an undertaking to provide their services in rural areas for two years.

On their selection for postgraduate courses also, they have to furnish a fresh bond of Rs 3 lakh.

Claiming that the state government was giving special attention to medical education, Mr Vishnoi said the medical colleges and affiliated hospitals were being modernised through government or autonomous bodies.

He said scholarships of students had been increased this year entailing additional expenditure of Rs 3.54 crore. The state government increased the intern's scholarship for graduates to Rs 3000 from Rs 2000. Scholarship of postgraduate students was also raised, he added.
