Monsoon covers parts of AP

Hyderabad, June 5 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon has covered parts of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh, bringing rain to several parts.

The sky remained overcast during the day in the capital, which also witnessed some drizzle.

Temperatures fell at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little over Telangana and Rayalaseema. They were below normal at many places over Telangana, at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and normal over Rayalaseema.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers had been forecast for a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next two days. Isolated rain/thundershowers were likely to occur over Telangana and Rayalaseema, the weather office here today said.

The amount of rainfall recorded in cm at various palacs were Kalingapatnam 3, Ranasthalam and Tekkali (both in Srikakulam district) 2 each and Bapatla, Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Chodavaram (Visakhapatnam dist) and Repalle (Guntur dist) one each respectivel.
