It's 6/6/6 tomorrow

New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) It will be the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year of the new millennium on the calendar tomorrow, a date that has spawned vigorous debate in the West because of its biblical linkage to Satan.

The rare calendar event when the date, the month and the year are the same numbers began from the start of the new millennium.

It was 01/01/01 on January one, 2001, and every year ever since has had a date, month and year number that reads the same on the calendar. The occurance will last till it is 12/12/12.

However, of all these calendar events, it is 6/6/6 or 666 that has generated the maximum interest. While the doomsayers, citing a reference in the book of Revelation (13:16-18) say antichrist will exercise power over Earth, others point out that the day has come and passed in 1906, 1806, 1706 and in the earlier millennia.

The day was popularised by the 1970s film 'The Omen' starring Gregory Peck and Lee Remick. A remake starring Mia Farrow, Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles is being released tomorrow, coinciding with the date.
