Dharam condemns hasty move to pass Office-of-Profit Bill
Bangalore, June 5 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly N Dharam Singh today condemned the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in the state for its attempt to pass the Office-of-Profit Bill in a hurry.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly lounge here, he said the state government had not taken the Opposition parties into confidence and was in a hurry to pass the Bill.
The former Chief Minister opined that the coalition Government was trying to satisfy some ''unsatisfied'' legislators by this move.
It may be recalled that the Karnataka Government had convened a two-day special session of both the Houses of the legislature from today to adopt a Bill for excluding various offices, including those of Panchayat heads, from the purview of Office-of-Profit.
