Cabinet has approved new Biotech and SEZ policies: Rane

Panaji, June 5 (UNI) The Goa government has approved the new biotech and special economic zone (SEZ) policies to boost industrial growth and employment generation through a package of attractive incentives to attract prominent enterpreneurs.

Announcing this at the post-cabinet media briefing at the secretariat complex here today, Chief Minister Prataspsinh Rane said the biotech policy envisaged 15 per cent capital subsidy upto a maximum of Rs 15 lakh for each industry besides a slew of other incentive packages.

The government, he said, encourages hatcheries, cultivation of medicinal plants, transgenic crops, industrial probiotics, health care products, phyto and bioremediation products to protect environment through the state industrial centres.

Besides, it had decided to encourage opening of incubators for special economic zones.
