BSF men to get extra weekly off
Jaisalmer, June 5 (UNI) The Border Security Force personnel manning the international borders would now be eligible for one weekly off apart from their annual leave.
The BSF headquarters took the decision in view of the jawan's 14-15 hour strenuous duty at the borders.
Defence source said now a one-day off would refresh the jawans to resume their duty with zeal, apart from giving them time to travel to headquarters to phone their respective families.
The jawans are unable to pursue their personal work and or even write letters to their families as they spend the entire day guarding the borders.
Although DTH televisions have been installed at the camps, most of them do not find the time to watch the programmes, as they are too tired after their duty.
These jawans are already undergoing stress-management programmes, yoga and games to take off their stress.
