BJP to contest panchayat polls alone
Tirupati, June 5: The BJP today decided to contest the coming panchayat elections without forging an alliance with other political parties in Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to newspersons here, party national secretary and B Dhttatreya said the BJP was confident of winning the local elections by contesting alone.
Referring to the present political alliances formed between different parties, he criticised the CPI(M) for its double standards.
Mr Dhattatreya alleged the CPI(M) had no policy and it was only for political mileage that the party had joined hands with the Congress and the TDP in the local body elections.
Earlier, Mr Dattatreya along with his family members offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara.
