Anti-quota stir continues in Jaipur

Jaipur, June 5 (UNI) Some railway employees of North Western Railways headquarters here went on mass leave today to protest against the OBC reservation in higher educational institutes.

Elsewhere, the agitation against reservation continued here with many organisations and forums actively pursuing their agenda.

State government employees at the secretariat would take out a torch rally on June 8, which will wind its way through the major thoroughfares of the city.

Wajud Morcha, one of the organisations spearing the agitation would hold a meeting today to decide on the future course of action.

Meanwhile, a signature campaign against reservation began yesterday which was conducted by the Swavran Araakshan Manch. Around 2,000 people signed in blood on the first day. The aim is collect one crore signatures in blood, which will be sent to the President A P J Abdul Kalam later on, said a spokesman of the organisation.

Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh was burnt in effigy and eleven nurses of Janana Hospital began their relay hunger strike yesterday.
