AG Punjab, AG UP enter final

Chandigarh, June 5 (UNI) Accounant General Punjab and its General Uttar Pradesh counterpart entered the final of the North Zone Audit and Accounts Department Badminton Championship here today.

AG Punjab blanked Delhi Audit by 3-0 and AG UP beat AG Himachal by 4-1 in the team championship semi-final matches.

In the first semi-final, Amit Sachdeva of AG Punjab routed Rajiv Sharma of Delhi Audit by 21-9, 21-15 in the first singles. Ashish Sharma of Punjab got the better of Nitin Sharma of Delhi Audit by 21-12, 21-6. In the doubles, Amit and Ashish beat Rajesh and Amrinder Singh of Delhi Audit 21-14, 21-19. In the second semi-final, AG UP outclassed AG HP, in another one-sided affair by 4-1.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, AG HP began their campaign by outplaying AG Uttranchal by 3-0.

In the second quarterfinal, AG Punjab routed AG Haryana by 3-0.

Results (semis): AG Punjab beat Delhi Audit by 3-0 (Amit Sachdeva beat Rajiv Sharma 21-4, 21-3, Ashish Sharma beat Nitin Suman 21-12, 21-6, Amit/Ashish beat Rajesh/Apinder Pal 21-14, 21-19).
