"ACMEE 2006" international exhibition begins June 8

Chennai, Jun 05 (UNI) For the first time, six foreign countries, including China, France and Italy have booked space for direct participation in the "ACMEE 2006", the seventh International Industrial Exhibition to be opened here on June eight.

Giving details of the event to newspersons here, K S Jayaraman, Convenor, "ACMEE 2006" said the five day exhibition, being organised at the Chennai Trade Centre in a total area of 11,500 sq meters, is expected to generate a business of Rs 100 crore.

Mr Jayaraman said as a concurrent event, a Global Autocomponents Sourcing Fair would be organised and the two events are expected to be visited by more than 1.50 lakh business and non-business visitors.

Switzerland, Sweeden and Thailand, apart from China, France and Italy, have confirmed their direct participation in the fair with 340 stalls. Of the total space, 20 per cent was being occupied by foreign participants, he added.

"ACMEE 2006" would focus on five thrust areas-Automobile and allied services, computers and peripherals, machinery and machine tools, electricals and equipments and electricals and controls and electronics and controls, he said.

More than 300 participants, both from India and abroad would take part in "ACMEE 2006" and products from 15 countries would be displayed. In the Global autocomponents sourcing fair, 36 companies would take part and the fair would provide a platform for the visitors to directly interact with auto component manufacturers, he added.
