19 affected by HIV in Burhanpur
Indore, June 5: Nineteen people have been tested positive for HIV in the past three months at voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) centre at Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Medical and Health Officer J S Avasya said HIV virus was found in 19 out of 100 people tested at the centre in the past three months. The affected included two women.
He informed that an AIDS patient had died last month.
''On an average, 5-6 HIV cases are being reported every month.
These patients are being referred to Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital,'' he added.
