Vajpayee comes to defence of distraught Mahajan family

New Delhi, June 4 (UNI) A day after the BJP attempted to distance itself from the family troubles of its late leader Pramod Mahajan, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to the defence of former party general secretary's son Rahul Mahajan, saying youngsters tend to commit wrong deeds when they are at an impressionable age.

However, the party would bring him to the right track, Mr Vajpayee added.

Mr Vajpayee's comments at Manali in Himachal Pradesh should soothe the Mahajan family on a day when Rahul Mahajan gained consciousness. He was was admitted to a private hospital in an unconscious state while Promod Mahajan's secretary Bibek Moitra was brought dead in the early hours on Friday.

None of the BJP leaders have visited Rahul Mahajan except party president Rajnath Singh and senior leader Sushma Swaraj declared after a meeting at Leader of Opposition L K Advani's residence that the family troubles of the former BJP leader should not be linked to the party.
