New Delhi, Jun 4 (UNI) In a volte face, the Apollo Hospital today said traces of drugs were found in the urine sample of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul who was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition on Thursday night.

''An investigation of the urine sample by the Dr Lal Pathlabs, a private medical investigative laboratory, revealed traces of drugs at 3.9 units,'' Apollo Hospital Spokesperson Dr Karan Thakur told UNI.

Clarifying the hospital's statement yesterday that Rahul had tested negative for drugs, he said, ''The Apollo hospital had done a qualitiative test in which such a low quantity of drugs could lead to both negative or positive findings.'' He said that more than 300 units was above normal and Rahul had a very low quantity of drugs in his body.

About his health condition, Dr Thakur said Rahul was conscious and on non-invasive ventilator support.

''He is talking and fully coherent in his speech,'' the spokesperson said.

He would be shifted to the ward from the intensive care unit(ICU) tomorrow.

A team of the Delhi Police is camping at the hospital to question Rahul about the ''champagne and drug party'' which claimed the life of Vivek Moitra, the secretary of late Pramod Mahajan.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has brought Sahil Zaroo, a suspect in the case, to Delhi from Srinagar for interrogation.

The police have interrogated about 14 people, including three Nigerians, in connection with the case.
