Three students score centum in medical stream in TNPCEE
Chennai, June 4 (UNI) Three students secured centum in the medical stream in the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) 2006, the results of which were declared today.
City girl Sandhya Suresh shared the honours with B Sulekha and L Harish Kumar of Tirunelveli district by scoring 50 marks each in Physical Science and Biology.
As many as 1,50,147 students appeared for the examination conducted by Anna University on May 18 and 19.
In the Engineering stream, S Subash Nehru of Vellore district secured centum (Physical Science 50 and Maths 50), followed by T M Vijayavaradharaj of Chennai scoring 99.58 per cent and P Kirubakaran of Kalpakkam securing the third place with 98.17 per cent.
V Bharathram of suburban Nanganallur, who emerged the topper in Plus Two results by scoring 1180 out of 2000, secured 99.58 per cent in the medicine stream.
Announcing the results here, Anna University Vice-Chancellor D Viswanathan said the marklist would be sent to the students in three days and the last date for the submission of applications was June 15.
The ranklist will be published on July 1 and the counselling would commence from July 10, he added.
In the entrance examination, 137 students secured the maximum of 50 marks in Biology. However, only seven in Physical Sciences and two in Maths secured the maximum marks.
The dip in the score might be due to the new syllabus of Physical Sciences introduced in the Plus Two last year, Mr Viswanathan said.
