Showers keep weather pleasant in UP, 6 killed

Lucknow, June 4 (UNI) Widespread pre-monsoon showers in the last 24 hours kept the weather pleasant in Uttar Pradesh, even as six people, including four children, were killed in rainfall-related incidents in the state.

Here police said four people, including three children, died when lightning struck them last night in Ghazipur district.

Meanwhile, a child and a woman were also killed in Lucknow and Hardoi districts when walls collapsed on them following heavy rainfall last night.

The met office said Lucknow recorded the maximum rainfall of 4 cm, while Kanpur, Bareilly, Hardoi and Ghazipur also experienced good amount of rains.

The weatherman has forecast rains/thundershowers in the next 24 hours at most places in UP, especially Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad and Faizabad divisions.
